FAQ
quick answers about the archive without making you read a novel.
The Archive
GoG Revived is a browser for an archived collection of GOG game releases.
The catalog preserves the files, mirrors, metadata, and assets that were available
in the archived copy rather than trying to mirror GOG's live catalog.
No. These are archived GOG releases, including the original installer files and
whatever goodies were included in the archived copy.
Because the archive represents what was actually captured at the time.
Some games have received newer releases since then.
It may not have existed in the archived collection, may have been removed before
the archive was captured, or simply has not been added yet.
No. The default catalog order is intentionally shuffled so the homepage and
All Games page are not one giant alphabetical wall.
Downloads
They are mirrors for the archived release. A game may have several hosts such as
Gofile, Pixeldrain, 1fichier, FileQ, or others.
Mirrors give you alternatives when one host is slow, unavailable, or rate-limited.
The files should represent the same archived package.
Goodies are extra files that were included with the archived GOG release, such as
soundtracks, artbooks, wallpapers, manuals, or other bonus material.
It lists the actual installer and goodie files recorded in the archived copy,
including their filenames and sizes when available.
Try another mirror first. If all mirrors for the game are dead, report it in the
Discord server.
Torrent
Some archived records include an infohash. When that exists, the site can generate
a magnet link and offer a .torrent export.
An infohash uniquely identifies a BitTorrent swarm. The site uses it to construct
a standard magnet URI for that game's archived release.
Yes, if you want to use the magnet link directly. A client such as qBittorrent can
open the magnet and handle the download.
Not every archived record contains an infohash. When there is no infohash, the site
only shows the available direct mirrors.
Installation
Most archived GOG releases contain a setup executable plus one or more data files.
Keep the installer and its accompanying .bin files together, then run the setup executable.
Larger GOG installers split game data across multiple .bin files. The setup executable
reads them automatically during installation.
No. Leave them beside the installer unless the specific release says otherwise.
Check the
Common Errors
page and the
Redistributables
page on main Glitchify.
Platforms
The archive currently tracks Windows, macOS, and Linux support.
Yes. Platform support is stored independently, so a game can appear under Windows,
macOS, Linux, or any combination of the three.
It comes from the archived product metadata associated with each game.
Game Metadata
They come from the archived product metadata. Genres are used for broad browsing,
while tags provide more specific descriptive information and improve search.
Some terms may appear in both sources, but the site treats genres as the main browse
taxonomy and tags as supplemental metadata.
It is the version recorded for the archived release represented on this site,
not necessarily the newest version currently sold by GOG.
The requirements are preserved from the archived product metadata. They reflect the
release information associated with that archived copy.
T means the game includes text support for that language. A means it includes audio support.
Requests & Reports
Yes. Use the
Discord server.
Check the site first so you do not request something that is already present.
Report the game and the broken host in Discord. If other mirrors still work, mention that too.
Report the game and the incorrect field in Discord so the archive record can be checked.
The Site
No. Browsing and accessing the archive does not require an account.
Game artwork and screenshots are stored separately so the frontend does not have to fetch
thousands of image assets from third-party APIs.
Report it in Discord with the page URL and what went wrong. Screenshots help.
